What is an antidepressant

The first antidepressant was isoniazid and it was shortly followed by iponiazid, both drugs were first released as anti – tuberculosis treatment and after reporting their effect on mode changing, they were first prescribed by doctors as Off- Label long before they became a known antidepressant treatment.

Although antidepressant treatment is always done through administering antidepressant drugs, there are several types of treatment that could help in mode alteration. The first method is the psychotherapy where the psychiatrist has sessions with the patient to find out the mental causes that induce his or her case of depression and try to alleviate these reasons to get the patient out of this mode.

In some cases the problem is related to the neuro - transmission of the patient and the electrotherapy is very potent in these cases, this type of therapy tends to help the body to regain its normal neuro - transmission activity to get the patient out of the dullness and depressant mode. In some cases, acupuncture was reported as a successful treatment for antidepressant patients and for this reason it is now one of the known treatments for antidepressant cases.

In some cases that show a specific problem regarding transmitting sensation through the neuro – system, the only successful treatment is the medical one. The usage of these drugs should be done under complete monitoring of a certified psychiatrist to avoid any risks of addiction or unfavorable results.
